This pair of rectangle-shaped stud earrings was carved from white earthenware. After they were dried, they were brushed with 3 or more coats of underglaze. Next they were fired in a kiln for around 8 hours. After cooling the artist finely brushed on 22 karat gold luster and fired the piece once more. Lastly a set of posts and backs were attached to the underside of each round piece. The findings used on these earrings are hypoallergenic, nickel-free surgical steel.
